The best way for short trips in Vietnam, for sure, is by motorbike. If you want to experience it, follow this route (departing from Ben Thanh Market). You can carry your tent; otherwise, they have tents for rent at the foot of the mountain. Remember to study the trekking routes carefully to not get lost.

Another safer option is to book a trekking & camping tour from agents. They will prepare a pickup car from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai, and cover all meals and equipment together with a tour guide who can speak English. You can check out more information on the website.

There's also a cable car system to transport you to the peak if you don't want to trek. However, spending 4 to 6 hours training your body and will, then reaching the peak and feeling fresh air all over around, enjoying a stunning view from above is still a perfect experience you don't want to miss. Chua Chan Mountain is an excellent gateway from a modern city.
